Everyone elected on November 3 takes office on Friday, January 1, 2027, and I'll update this list then. Calls and emails to legislators' Capitol offices reach them during the session and most weeks outside it. The Ohio General Assembly switchboard is 1-800-282-0253.

County boards, school boards and the Legislature meet in public, and most take public comment. Each meeting below says where it came from: the body's own calendar, its published dates, or its regular schedule, which can change. Confirm the time before you go.

Your county government and school boards

Most of Ohio's 88 counties are run by three elected county commissioners, while Cuyahoga and Summit counties have charters with an elected county council and county executive. Areas outside cities and villages are served by townships led by elected trustees, and cities and villages have their own mayors and councils.

The Ohio General Assembly

The 2027 session starts on Monday, January 4, 2027.

House and Senate committee hearings are open to the public, and members of the public can testify on bills. Senate witnesses are not under oath but must register with the committee chair at the start of the hearing. The House asks witnesses to fill out its Witness Information Form and send it with their written testimony to the committee chair's office before the hearing. Weekly committee schedules are posted online.
